Effective December 6, all travelers to the United States must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 viral test taken the day before boarding a flight, regardless of vaccination or citizenship status.
As of November 8, the Embassy and Consulates General will resume processing visa applications of all categories. Please go to the Visa Scheduling Service to schedule your interview. Due to health and safety protocols, appointments may be limited. However, we are regularly adding new slots for appointments. Be sure to check back often. All travelers entering the United States who are not U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or U.S. immigrants and are 18 years of age or older must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Effective December 6, all airline passengers to the United States aged two years and older, regardless of citizenship status, must show a negative COVID-19 viral test within one day of travel.
Vaccines that are fully approved and for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization will be accepted. This includes all vaccines currently approved for use in Brazil (as of October 26, 2021). The final dose must have been administered two weeks before the start of the trip.
Airlines will verify vaccination status via a paper voucher, a photo of the paper voucher, or a digital app. Please contact your airline before going to the airport with any questions about verifying your vaccination status.
You can request an expedited interview. To request an expedited interview, first schedule a regular interview on the earliest available date. Then login to your account, click “Continue”, select “Request Expedite” and follow the instructions. Accelerated appointments will only be granted at the discretion of the Consular Section.
